The Yamaha IT125 was one of various capacity variations debuted in 1980, with the highest being 490cc. This is referring to the later road trail bikes, not the 1972 pure motocross DT2.

Whereas the DT models were built as dual-purpose trail bikes with a street bias, the IT series were all-out enduro motorcycles based on vintage Motocross machinery. Lights and a retuned motor for increased mid-range torque at the expense of a lower specific BHP were the only differences.
