From 1981 to 1984, Yamaha manufactured the Motocross bike known as the IT465 model. It belonged to Yamaha's "International Trials" (IT) line of off-road bikes, which were made for both motocross and enduro racing.

The older IT425 model was updated with the IT465 in 1981. It had a two-stroke, 465cc liquid-cooled engine and five-speed gearbox. The engine was well-liked by motocross and enduro riders because of its potent mid-range power and powerful overall performance.

The IT465's suspension system consisted of a Monocross single-shock system in the back and a leading-axle air frame up front. On rocky terrain, the adjustable suspension offered excellent handling and stability.

The "Torque Induction" system, which was one of the IT465's standout features, was created to enhance low-end power distribution by changing the shape of the exhaust port. This feature was designed to increase the bike's maneuverability and ease of use in challenging off-road situations.

Between 1981 and 1984, the IT465 was manufactured for four years before being superseded by the IT490. Although it was only produced for a brief period of time, classic motocross and enduro fans continue to favor the IT465 today. Its unique blend of strength, agility, and toughness has made it a legend among off-road bikes.

Yamaha IT465 Top Speed

The Yamaha IT465 is capable of reaching a maximum speed of about 85 mph. The real top speed, however, may differ based on the rider's weight, the terrain, and the riding environment. It's important to keep in mind that because the IT465 was mainly intended for off-road use, its top speed might not be as high as a bike made for the streets.
