1967 Yamaha YDS3 Catalina Old bike in good condition

In 1963, the Mechanics Motorcycle Magazine hosted the Yamaha YDS-2 sports train with great applause. The successor machine, joking called YDS3, has brought new progress: the first view of the Lube car repair system on a gearbox pump; Redrawn cylinder heads, an additional plate in the wet clutch, more than 24 mm suffering, a stronger crankshaft and better joints.

Yamaha used its racing experience to found the YD chassis on its tubular lullabment frame, which had worked so well on the Asama riders. It was a good game for the freshly launched, short, two-sterile, 27bhp engine. '

The most square 56mm x 50mm (hole x hub) 246CC has generated its maximum at 7500U/min and have been made even more usable by the five-speed gearbox with a very  "Snick Snick" layer. At the Grand Prix of the day of traffic lights, it would run 16.6 seconds for a quarter mile and a quoted peak speed of 82mph.

The light weight and a good front brake shoe at two elevators ensured handling and stopping. The world cycle test driver said: "the speed of corn grain speed is limited only by the thin angle at which things start to slide.  "However, the YDS3 was not built for the circuit and proved to be extremely convenient for the road driving. In fact, cycle world has found it difficult to blame with  "a comfortable driving position, a fine race in addition to fine handling, and a manufacturing and construction quality that is truly remarkable. "...
