Throughout 2015 different Yard Built projects carried out by the acclaimed manufacturers of transformations on the XJR1300 will demonstrate everything that can be achieved only with a creative use of "added" components . It is about reinforcing the authentic "Yard Built" concept, instead of resorting to irreversible transformations, such as cutting and welding. The first to pick up the glove have been the legendary Danish manufacturers, based in Copenhagen.

"Wrenchmonkees has already provided very valuable information to create this latest XJR model thanks to its first collaborations," says Yamaha Motor Europe product manager Shun Miyazawa . “Your XJR1300 Yard Built" Monkeefist " was one of the precursors of the 2015 XJR and was a fundamental inspiration to find the current design. Thanks to this influence, we do not feel that it was necessary to change the bike drastically, but instead we focused on adjusting it and improving it where necessary to optimize the model. ”

"We worked very hard to make sure there were no radical design changes in the transformation," says Per Nielsen of Wrenchmonkees, instead of adding our characteristic minimalist style with a stylized silhouette, without making cuts or welds on the chassis. "

His partner Nicholas Bech adds, “First we disassembled the motorcycle to the fullest and removed some components to make it look like they had never been there. On that basis, we worked with other companies from the outset to find "added" pieces that we could modify to create our own style. ”

Wrenchmonkees continued to work on the accessory components with better design and fit, and minimalist to the maximum to go transforming the motorcycle . Some handcrafted Wrenchmonkees pieces were also added, such as the "Monkeefist" upper seat post in anodized aluminum or the engine covers.

The part of the handlebar, completely clear, part of some black LSL Speed Match handlebars with Biltwell cuffs, which revolve around a yellow MMB digital speedometer mini-clock, located on a custom WM headlamp, also yellow.

The brake system has also received a good improvement. A complete Beringer group has been added with Hypersport brake discs, Beringer calipers front and rear, and Beringer brake pump and clutch to match. The final touch is put on the steel brake hoses, in black.

The LSL delayed footrests in matt black aluminum have been modified to have a more aggressive driving posture, reinforced by the Öhlins STX 36 rear wheel shock absorber. The XJR series tires are still present in the Skullmonkee but are now wrapped in a Michelin Pilot Road 4s to get the most of the asphalt.

The LSL Titan steering damper makes everything always under control and the LED light is just the last visible part in the rear, on a 4-2 stainless steel exhaust with silent Wrenchmonkees / Spark rear.

The finish of the motorcycle is impressive, with a gloss black lacquer and the Skullmonkee emblem on the tank. The golden details are the peculiar tribute to an absolutely legendary motorcycle.

XJR users can request Skullmonkee parts directly on the Wrenchmonkees website to make their motorcycle have a "Copenhagen style" design.
