1982 Yamaha Virago 920 Specs
The Yamaha XV920 Virago 920 was a four-stroke V-Twin cruiser, manufactured by
Yamaha from 1981 to 1983. It can reach a maximum speed of 169 km/h. The
maximum torque was 56.06 ft/lbs (76.0 Nm) at 5000 rpm. The claimed PS was
47.47 hp (35.4 KW) to 6500 M/min.
The 920 Virago was first introduced in 1982 as a larger version of the XV750 Virago. There really was no competition in the U.S. that wasn't much bigger or smaller. It could be maintained with an electronic line that showed speed and digital R.P.M.
A well-known problem was the starter, which often started to
slide at low mileage due to poor design. If they were properly coordinated,
they were very fast from the line and able to be driven over long distances,
the only real restriction is the low fuel capacity.
The engine was
an air-cooled, four-stroke v2. A 92.0 mm x 69.2 mm hole gives a run of only
920.0 cubic centimeters. The fuel was delivered by valves (ohv).
The bike has a 5-speed gearbox. The force was driven by the
Multi-Plate Act.
It goes with a 100/90-19 front tire and a
130/90-16 rear tire. The Braking system was achieved by a single disc in the
front and an expanding brake (drum brake) at the rear. The front suspension
was a 37mm Showa Axle leading, while the rear was equipped with a monoshock.
The XV920MK was equipped with a 3.8-gallon (14.38-litre) tank. The bike only 496.04 pounds (225.0 kg). The wheelbase was 1520 mm long.
