The Yamaha TT-R225 is a beginner bike produced by Yamaha from 1999 to 2004. The following year, after take a break from production of the TTR225, they replaced the model indubsted with the TTR230. TTR225s are known to be very reliable.

The TTR225 is based on the nearly similar wheel of the XT 225 road and is the only difference: the lights, passenger hands, the smaller rear wheel and other road accessories are. Both bikes are equipped with an electric start.

The names TT, TTR and XT have been used for offroad and dual-sport versions in different markets and at different times. On the other hand, the TTR has chrome steel wheels, steel engine protection and a lighter seat height than the XT, with thinner bodies and alloy components.
